Sunday, 2/24/08, Art at Sarchi

Sunday - 2-24-08

By now, the days were winding down until we had to head back to the U.S. Most of us were having so much fun that we could not believe that we had one day left. The penultimate day was as packed with activities as any other day. This was probably one of our most busiest days of the trip...

Checking out...How many of you returned your towel cards? I returned mine.

Eddie and Miles posing with their chaperone Hope...

David playing us a good-bye song on his zampoña.

Joy explaining how he bent a silver coin with his teeth and how he dominated in Water Polo.

On our 4 hr excursion from Punta Arenas back to San José, we stopped in Sarchi where we received a tutorial in how to paint the ox-cart design. The ox-cart design...Most of us did very well, I believe mine was the best, but I let a student win the contest. Painting is not as easy as I thought, and some of the students (Luke and Boom) can tell you that. I guess they never learned not to color, or in this case, paint outside of the lines. In the end everyone did a great job.

We learned to paint the ox-cart design in Sarchi.

Mr. Martinez got his head hand-painted.
